Muscle Tension
The mechanical aspects of massage helps loosen constricted and tense muscle fibers. This effect is also used to release adhesions in deeper fascia layers.
Circulation
Massage aids in circulation for not just the cardiovascular system but also lymphatics. This helps with healing, fluid retention, and movement of nutrition and waste throughout the body.
Relaxation
Massage promotes the release of endorphins and other natural hormones such as dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin to help the mind and body cope with stress.
Professional background and training.
I trained as a licensed massage therapist in Georgia with American Professional Institute and am board certified with the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.
I am also certified in these listed modalities.
01
Prenatal Massage
According to the American Pregnancy Association, research shows prenatal massage therapy can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.
02
Lymphatic Drainage
According to the Cleveland Clinic, Lymphatic drainage massages are often used to relieve lymphedema following breast cancer or other reconstructive surgery. Other conditions that benefit from lymphatic drainage massages include rheumatoid arthritis, venous insufficiency, fibromyalgia and more.
LD can be used with or without cupping techniques.
03
Hot Stone
Healthline.com mentions 6 benefits of hot stone massage. I see these benefits as enhancements to the healing benefits of manual massage. Heat from the stones promote improved circulation even further.
